Headshots generally mean chest up closeups of your...head! These can be impactful because nothing is distracting the viewer from seeing just the individual. Everyone should have a basic headshot. But, "portraits" can encompass both headshots and wider images. Each of our individual studio sessions can include creative portraits that are captured with complete collaboration between us and our clients. We listen to clients' ideas and then create the images to make them come alive.
At the beginning of our session, we will review your goals for the session and what you really need. Even if you don't have a clear idea for the exact images, we'll guide you through the process of collaborating and designing the images that will show the message and branding you want to send. I love these images so much, because it showcases just a little more of a special and personal message for each unique individual and their branding needs.
If you need images for conference speaking, websites, social media, author bios, awards, print marketing, or proposals, it's great to have options in your image repository that show more than a headshot. I have a much more extensive list on my 19 Real Uses for Your Headshot blog post. Many of my clients have invested a lot of time and effort to preparing for their headshot session, so they want to maximize their session investment by capturing multiple images, both headshots and portraits.
